1. Jesus coming for His church is like a bridegroom coming for his bride, (the church, or believers). What does Matthew 25:1-2 say the virgins were doing, and how are they described?
2. How does Matthew 25:3-4 explain the wise and the foolish? The oil represents believers who are “born again,” or those who receive Jesus as Lord of their lives.
3. What does Matthew 25:5-7 say happened when the bridegroom took a long time to come? This represents the centuries that Christians have been waiting for Christ’s return to earth.
4. Then, what does Matthew 25:6-9 say happened? Foolish virgins had no oil. This represents that it takes too long for some people to come to Christ. Many people think that they have a lifetime before making the decision to come to salvation, accepting Jesus as their Lord. Salvation cannot be bought.
5. Time can run out, before people decide to accept Jesus into their hearts, and receive salvation. When they die, their chance dies with them. If Jesus were to come before people are ready, their time has also run out. Jesus wants to know His saints, and form a relationship with each one. How does Matthew 25:10-13 conclude this sad verse?
