BAND SAW INFORMATION
Before using the band saw the blade should be checked to make sure it is tight & tracking properly and that it is the right type of blade for the work.
Check to be sure that the blade is installed properly with the teeth pointing down.
Get permission from the instructor before making any changes or adjustments on the saw.
The wheel guards must be in place and locked before the saw is turned on.
The blade guide should be adjusted so that it is about 1/8" above the material you are going to cut.
When you switch on the saw, make sure it is tracking properly.
If the saw makes a strange noise while it is running, turn it off immediately.
Never stand on the right side of the table, and don’t let anyone else stand on that side while the saw is running.
If the blade breaks, get out of the way immediately.
Never make adjustments on the saw while it is running.

Use a piece of scrap wood to remove scraps from around the table.
The material must be held down firmly against the table while it is being cut.
Plan the cut so that you can keep your line of sight all the way through the cut.
When you cut a large piece of material ask someone to help hold down the stock while you guide it through the saw.
You should never try to cut round or warped stock on the band saw.
Always turn the band saw off and wait for it to come to a complete stop before you leave it.
Do not use the band saw until you understand how to use it correctly and safely.
In the event of a power loss always switch the machine to the off position.
No loose clothing or jewelry are to be worn while perating the equipment.
