PLANER INFORMATION
  1. Get permission from the instructor before using the Planer.
  2. Wear eye & ear protection when using the planer.
  3. You should know where the cotrols are and know how to operate them in case there is an emergency.
  4. Set the height of the table before switching on the planer.
  5. The planer should be set for the smallest cut that will do the job.
  6. The wood must be in good condition and free of defects such as lose knots, splits and checks.
  7. The wood must be free of nails or any other foreigh objects.
  8. Never plane wood that has paint, varnish or any other kind of finish on it.
  9. The stock must be long enough to go through the Planer safely.
  10. The material should be at least 1/2" thick.
  11. The surfaced reference face of the board should be placed down on the Planer.
  12. When you plane a long piece of stock get someone to help support the material as it leave the outfeed side of the Planer.
  13. Always plane with the grain of the wood. Never try to plane across the grain.

  17. If the material gets stuck in the Planer, turn it off immediately and wait for it to come to a complete stop, then you can lower the table to release the material.
  18. Do not use the Planer until you have learned to operate it correctly and safely.
  19. Never wear loose clothing or jewelry while operating the equipment.
  20. In the case of a power failure turn the switch to the off position.
